What is the recommended fitness level?It is recommended that you are able to do easy to moderate hiking for up to 3 hours at a time. You should be cleared to do moderate to intense exercise by your doctor.

What do you mean by this is a “bucket list trip”?For cold training practitioners, Alaska is a wild frontier that offers training unlike anywhere in the world. From river training to ice covered waterfalls in winter and glacier swimming access in summer; from frozen lakes to snowy hikes in shorts, the beauty and expansive level of training opportunities are unmatched worldwide. Winter training offers a great opportunity to see the northern lights, while summer training allows the opportunity to see abundant wildlife.

Who are the instructors?You will be guided by two of the most experienced, elite cold practitioners. Matt Soule is a level 3 Wim Hof Method (WHM) instructor who has trained hundreds of other (WHM) instructors through his role at the international WHM Academy. Further he has trained many thousands of WHM participants. He has led the majority of his trainings in nature throughout the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, and Alaska, although he has also led trainings in Poland, Spain, and many other destinations. John Paul Huffer is a WHM instructor based in Alaska. Born and raised in this epic frontier, he has spent decades in these mountains, rivers, and waterfalls. Over the last several years he has led groups throughout the winters to experience the best of Alaska’s cold training options. Our onsite medical doctor, Dr. Ariadna Uriarte, is a world-class health expert, Level 2 WHM instructor among many other certifications in health and well-being.

Will I need a rental car?Not unless you want private transportation for personal reasons. Group airport shuttles are included as well as all transportation to the training destinations during the retreat. We will be offering group airport shuttles on Wednesday, Feb. 5th estimated at 2p, and a returning shuttle Sunday, Feb. 9th leaving at approximately 10a arriving by 11a to Ted Stevens airport. These times are subject to change slightly in order to accommodate the maximum number of people that request a shuttle.

What level of experience do I need to attend this trip?No experience is required, though an adventurous spirit is necessary. The Wim Hof Method is designed to get you out of your comfort zone. Your guides, Matt Soule and John Paul Huffer, have carefully curated each activity to challenge beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners as appropriate. Everyone will train within their level to walk away with the best training experience.

What is your refund policy?If you cancel 91 days or more prior to the event start date, you receive a 100% refund. If you cancel 61 - 90 days, you receive 50% refund or, alternatively, you can receive full credit to transfer to a future event within 12 months. If you cancel within 60 days or less there is no refund or transfer.

How do I get there?Fly into the Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, AK. The address of our group meeting home will be provided directly to you. Transportation is available for an extra cost for those who do not want to rent their own vehicle.

What room options are available?We are offering shared room options and private room options which includes either a twin bed, king bed or a queen bed in the group house. Click on “book now” options above for additional information.

Is there an equipment list?Yes, at minimum the recommended list includes a day backpack, winter hiking clothing and boots (even in summer), mini-spikes, a headlamp, swimsuit(s), water shoes, water bottle, and an outdoor quick-dry towel.
